As officers moved closer, the rider allegedly “accelerated harshly” and veered into a four-year-old girl, who was walking on the footpath.

The girl suffered a head laceration and was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition.

7NEWS understands the girl had been walking with her parents and another young child in a pram moments before the collision.
