San Diego Foundation on Thursday announced it awarded a record 9,081 grants worth $102.4 million to 2,552 nonprofits during the 2024-25 fiscal year.
The data, released in the foundation's annual report, marks its 50th anniversary year and its Fifty & Forward campaign , which aims to award $500 million in grants and raise $1 billion to "shape a more just, equitable and resilient San Diego," according to the report.
So far, the foundation and its donors have granted $407.6 million, 82% of the campaign's grantmaking goal, and raised $984.3 million, 98% of the fundraising goal, as of the end of September.
