New Delhi: Shashant Shekhar, the Congress candidate from Patna Sahib, pitted against BJP’s Ratnesh Kushwaha, is trailing by 18,000-plus votes after 16 rounds of counting.

Kushwaha is leading with 67,154 votes at 1.25 pm while Shekhar’s tally stands at 48,519 votes.

Patna Sahib is an urban constituency, which the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has held as its stronghold for decades. Formed after delimitation in 2008, its first election was held in 2010. Previously, the area was known as Patna East. Show Full Article
