New Delhi: Pune Police have registered a case of culpable homicide against the deceased driver and cleaner of a heavy container truck as well as the vehicle’s owner following Thursday evening’s accident on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway.
The crash which occurred near the accident-prone Navale Bridge has left eight people dead and 14 others injured.
According to reports, the accident occurred when the truck heading towards Mumbai lost control due to a suspected brake failure while descending the steep slope of the Satara-Mumbai lane. The truck rammed into several vehicles in its path, including a mini-bus before colliding with another container truck ahead of it.
