Hyderabad: Congress celebrations are already underway with party candidate Naveen Yadav inching towards victory in the Jubilee Hills Assembly bypoll in Hyderabad. Yadav is leading by almost 20,000 votes over his rival Maganti Sunitha, and only two rounds of counting remain.

Yadav contested Jubilee Hills twice before, in 2014 from the AIMIM and in 2018 as an independent. He has received almost 80,000 votes so far (as of 1.30 pm).

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS)’s Maganti Sunitha is a distant second with around 58,000 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) Lankala Deepak Reddy is a distant third, having polled a little over 14,000 votes. Show Full Article
