The sophomore sensation struck again.
Julian Lopez netted two goals to power top-seeded Pingry, No. 3 in the NJ.com Top 20, to a 2-0 win over second-seeded and No. 20 Christian Brothers in the South Jersey, Non-Public A tournament final on Thursday afternoon in Basking Ridge.
The title is Pingry’s second in a row and 13th all-time. The Big Blue (18-2) next faces No. 1 St. Benedict’s in the Non-Public A final on Sunday at Franklin.
Christian Brothers was looking for its 21st sectional crown in team history and first in three years. The Colts edged Pingry in that 2023 final.
“It feels amazing,” Pingry’s Harrison Hackett said. “I remember sophomore year we lost 1-0 there and it really hurt. It was nice to play CBA again senior year and get the win.”
