Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday handed over appointment letters to 8,206 candidates selected under the Directorate of Higher Education, Directorate of Secondary Education and the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) at an official programme. With this latest round of recruitment, the total number of people who have secured government jobs during the tenure of the present government has risen to 1,34,999, he said.
