New Delhi: India’s commercial vehicle (CV) industry is expected to cross the 1 million sales mark in FY26, a milestone last achieved in FY19. The growth is being driven by the recent reduction in GST rates and higher government spending on infrastructure projects.
Major truck and bus makers, including Tata Motors, have raised their growth outlook for FY26. Earlier, they had predicted a mid-single-digit growth, but now they expect high single-digit growth in sales for the year.
CV Industry Targets FY26 Comeback
In FY19, CV sales slightly exceeded 1 million units. Since then, the industry has struggled to reach that level again. FY24 recorded around 0.96 million units sold, while FY25 ended with about 0.95 million units, with a marginal 1% fall compared to the previous year.
