Bryant may have lost key production from last season's Class 6A state-title team, but it got off to a pretty promising start to the season Thursday night.
Camarion Bead and R.J. Young combined for 48 points as the Hornets weathered a late push by Little Rock Parkview to run away for a 73-53 victory at Da Matchup Showcase in front of a huge crowd at Little Rock Christian's Warrior Arena.
The 20-point win was an emphatic beginning for Bryant (1-0), which is replacing three starters from the group that sprinted to the Class 6A championship in March. It was also without a few players whom Coach Mike Abrahamson said he expects will be integral in quest to repeat.
But it helps that he's got a pair of NCAA Division I standouts at his disposal.
