Recently, President Donald Trump presented the idea of sending out dividend payments funded by tariff revenue .

On Nov. 9, Trump said in a Truth Social post that a dividend of at least $2,000 a person will be paid to everyone, not including high income individuals.

However, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has expressed doubt on the plan and said that the payout could just refer to tax savings, ABC News reported.
