New Delhi, Nov 14: India and Canada have committed to continuing ministerial dialogues on trade and investment early next year, following a meeting between Union Minister Piyush Goyal and Canadian Minister Maninder Sidhu.

The discussion highlighted the importance of engaging with the private sector to unlock new trade opportunities. Bilateral trade reached $23.66 billion in 2024, with a 10% increase in merchandise trade. Both countries agreed to strengthen supply-chain partnerships in critical minerals, clean energy, and aerospace.

The meeting followed prior directives from the Prime Ministers during the G7 summit, and also involved discussions on cooperation in trade, energy, and security between External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and his Canadian counterpart.
