BOONEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - At a small stretch of land in Owsley County sits the Wilbur Pepper Mini Pig Sanctuary, filled with 17 pigs who are squealing for joy.

Ali Wyatt dedicates her life to her “piggos,” as she calls them. The Minnesota transplant operates the sanctuary off the grid, following a reduce, reuse and recycle lifestyle.

“Sweet Pete, Peppa Pig, Suzy Q, Princess Peanut, also the name a tiny girl. Minnie Pearl, Ganon the Cannonball, Blade the Babe, Webster, Webster Dictionary Pig,” Wyatt said, listing some of her pigs’ names.

Each pig was rescued, all with unique backgrounds and specific needs. Wyatt said many of the pigs are rescues coming from abusive situations, while others are surrenders.

“I always loved pigs and I never got to have one when I was a kid,” Wyatt said.
