Severe weather warnings have been issued across parts of England and Wales today, as the UK braces for Storm Claudia to bring heavy downpours and potential flooding.
Claudia, named by the Spanish Meteorological Service, Aemet, due to ongoing impacts in Canary Islands, could cause travel disruptions, power cuts, and flooding across parts of the UK, according to the Met Office.
Greater Manchester is covered by a yellow weather warning from midday until 11.59pm on Friday (November 14). The Met Office has warned of "strong, gusty winds causing some disruption" across the region.
The forecaster said in its alert: "Gusts of 50 to 60 mph are expected during the afternoon and evening, perhaps up to 70 mph over some exposed hilltop and coastal spots.
