Mumbai: On World Diabetes Day , Metropolis Healthcare Ltd on Thursday released new data suggesting that nearly one in three Indians shows early signs of metabolic syndrome , a key precursor to Type 2 diabetes . The findings, derived from a nationwide lipid profile analysis of over 3.9 lakh individuals, underscore the need for early metabolic screening beyond routine blood sugar checks, the diagnostics chain said.
“Cholesterol and triglyceride imbalances often emerge years before blood glucose becomes abnormal, making lipid screening an essential early-warning tool for diabetes,” the company said in a statement.
