Ava Gaspard and Vicki Morey led the way when Westfield, No. 12 in the NJ.com Top 20, defeated No. 8 Livingston 27-25, 25-20, 25-22 in the semifinal round of the NJSIAA Group 4 Tournament in Livingston.

Gaspard and VMorey totaled 13 and 11 kills, respectively.

“[Gaspard] has been our go-to all year, she was finding spots really well today,” Westfield coach Beverly Torok said. “[Morey] too, she was having a day. Like most teams, your outsides are your go-tos.”

Westfield was able to take control of the game after winning a tight first set.

“The first set was tough,” Torok said. “[Livingston] is a great serving team, they swing hard.”

Emelia Dengler and Abby Wilson combined for 28 assists for Westfield.

Westfield will play Old Bridge in the Group 4 title game Saturday at Franklin High.
