A tragic road accident in Kodala, Ganjam, late Thursday night, claimed one life and left another person critically injured.

The collision occurred near the Melisahu Petrol Pump on the Bhubaneswar-Asika main road when a speeding truck rammed into a motorcycle head-on.

According to reports, Kumar Babu Behera (45), a resident of Kodala, rode his motorcycle (OD 02BZ 9341) with Purna Chandra Nahak (36) of Arjunpalli as pillion. Behera had finished work and was dropping Nahak back to his village. Suddenly, the truck (OR 07 Y2546) approached from the opposite direction and struck them violently.

The impact threw both riders onto the road, causing severe injuries. Immediately, locals rushed them to the Kodala Community Health Centre. Doctors declared Kumar Babu Behera dead on arrival. Meanwhile
