Arguably the best group of high school quarterbacks ever in the state will showcase their deep and varied talents as the state playoffs begin Friday night.
Leading the list is Greenwood senior Kane Archer, last season's Arkansas Democrat-Gazette All-Arkansas Preps Player of the Year.
Archer is 36-0 as a starter and last season set a national high school record by completing 81.4% of his passes (245 of 301) for 3,829 yards and 57 touchdowns.
He's making his mark again this season, becoming the first quarterback in state history to pass for at least 100 touchdowns (707 of 946 for 9,558 yards and 123 TDs) and rush for at least 50 touchdowns (301 carries for 2,459 yards and 50 TDs) in his career.
