HOCKING COUNTY, Ohio (WSYX) - An Ohio man will spend years behind bars for secretly recording guests inside his former rental property.

Investigators said Jason Yard hid a camera inside a bathroom and recorded dozens of unsuspecting guests, including families with young children.

A judge on Wednesday sentenced Yard to up to nine years in prison.

Yard was arrested months after a family spotted a hidden camera in the bathroom ceiling of their rental cabin in Hocking Hills in February 2024.

Investigators said they later discovered recordings of dozens of victims, including children, that had been filmed over several years.

The judge called the case “a renter’s worst nightmare” while handing down a sentence that exceeded a plea bargain of four to six years.
