The Embassy of France in the United States used the viral image of the “detective” from the Louvre heist as it responded to comments made by US President Donald Trump about France.
During a Fox News interview, Trump defended the presence of Chinese students at American universities, saying he believed it was “good to have outside countries.”
Host Laura Ingraham pushed back, claiming Chinese nationals “spy on us” and “steal our intellectual property.” In response, Trump asked her, “Do you think the French are better?”
"Yeah,” Ingraham said as Trump disagreed, saying: "I'm not so sure. We've had a lot of problems with the French."
