Lady Gaga’s career was going very well in 2017 with the filming of the hit movie “A Star Is Born,” but it came with a heavy mental toll.

In an interview with Rolling Stone , Gaga reveals she was taking lithium while making the movie with Bradley Cooper. Lithium is a mood stabilizer that is used to treat disorders such as mania, hypo-mania, depression and bipolar disorder, according to the National Health Service in England.

Gaga also released the album “Joanne” in 2016 and began a tour in 2017. The extensive workload led to a psychotic break, she tells Rolling Stone.
