With 42 days to go until the big day, the City of Charleston began putting up Christmas decorations. On Thursday, city employees placed wreaths and other holiday greenery on the South Side Bridge and along Kanawha Boulevard.

While Charleston saw White Christmas weather earlier this week, rain and forecasted temperatures in the 50s Friday and Saturday may make you feel more like famous Christmas miser Ebenezer Scrooge.

The holidays are still more than a month away, but it's only eight days until Light the Night at GoMart Ballpark, 15 days until Holly Jolly Brawley takes over downtown, and 28 days until the Charleston Christmas Parade.
