PATNA: The Nitish-Modi alliance in Bihar has also created a rift in the traditional Left strongholds. The Left parties CPML, CPM and CPI contested 29 seats together last time. Out of these, they managed to win 16 seats in 2020. However, this time, the Left parties collapsed in most of the seats and the BJP was ahead in all of them. The confidence of the victory in the previous elections did not help this time. All three Left parties contested 33 seats and are leading in only two of them.

Out of the 20 seats contested, the Communist Party of India (Marxist Leninist) is leading in only one seat. Only in Ghosi. The lead here is just 1294. The CPM is leading only in Bibhutipur. Here, it presently has a clear lead of 5451 votes. The CPML is in second place in Agaun, Ara, Arwal, Balrampur, Bhor
