COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Those freezing temperatures early in the week are a distant memory as warmer weather continues to build, especially during the afternoons. Rain stays out of the forecast until at least mid next week with the best chance not until late next week.

Lots of sun Friday. After chilly upper 30s and low 40s early, it will be warming up quickly. Highs reach the mid 70s.

Cooling Friday evening for high school football games. Temperatures in the 60s at kickoff will fall into the 50s the rest of the game. Chilly overnight with lows early Saturday in the upper 30s and lower 40s.

Sunny Saturday with temperatures climbing quickly. It will be good weather for outdoor activities, including Steeplechase. Highs climb into the mid and upper 70s.
