Deputies in Volusia County are still searching for a man who fled into the swamp at DeLeon Springs State Park after abandoning a stolen car and allegedly threatening officers.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office spent hours trying to locate Earl Dorey, who is believed to be armed.

The incident began when deputies attempted to stop a stolen car with three occupants. Two individuals were apprehended, but Dorey managed to escape into the wilderness.

Bodycam footage from a deputy shows the tense moments as deputies, accompanied by a dog, tried to catch Dorey.

The sheriff's office reported that Dorey pointed a gun at them and threatened to kill himself before disappearing deeper into the swamp.
