DTE Energy has begun offering payment relief options for federal employees hurt by the shutdown
Now that the shutdown is over, the federal government will send out back pay sometime between Nov. 15 and Nov. 19, according to officials.
The 43-day shutdown showdown is over and federal government employees are returning to their jobs. But that doesn't mean the financial stress has ended completely.
DTE Energy has begun offering payment relief options for federal employees hurt by the shutdown. Eligible customers can request a 30-day pause on bill collection without penalties, which might provide critical breathing room to catch up on other bills.
To request a hold, customers can call DTE at 800-477-4747. DTE assistance is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
