CHESAPEAKE — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a motor vehicle early Friday morning in the Greenbrier West area of the city.
A man who authorities said had been hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Clearfield Avenue and Discovery Drive was found by first responders around 12:15 a.m.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was rendered medical aid but later died from his injuries, according to the Chesapeake Police Department.
The identity of the man has not been released. The collision is under investigation, police said.
