The Congress has won one constituency and was leading in four of the 61 seats it contested in the Assembly elections in Bihar, the Election Commission data showed at 5.12pm.
This was one of the worst performances of the party in the state.
During the 2020 Assembly polls, the Congress won 19 seats , whereas in 2010, it managed to clinch only four seats in the state.
In the 2025 elections, the Congress’ Mohammad Qamrul Hoda won the Kishanganj seat with a margin of more than 12,000 votes.
The party was leading in Valmiki Nagar, Chanpatia, Araria and Manihari.
In Chanpatia, the party’s Abhishek Ranjan was ahead by a slender margin of 828.
The Congress is part of the Mahagathbandhan, which also comprises the Rashtriya Janata Dal, the Vikassheel Insaan Party and three Left parties
