ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI – State police are investigating the discovery of suspected human remains in Otsego Township.
Police responded around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, to the 600 block of Lincoln Road, near West River Street, for a report of a missing person and to conduct a welfare check.
Troopers discovered what appeared to be human remains. The Grand Rapids state police crime laboratory processed the scene. Anthropologists from Western Michigan University excavated the remains.
“This is an ongoing investigation with many unknowns,” a state police lieutenant said.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
