NEW DELHI, Nov 14: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday said it has brought back a fugitive criminal from the UAE who was on the run in a cheating-cum-criminal case of Uttarakhand. The accused Jagdish Punetha will be handed over to Uttarakhand Police.

His return was possible with the collaboration with Ministries of External Affairs and Home, said an official, adding Punetha was wanted by Uttarakhand Police.

An FIR was lodged against him at Pithoragarh police station on the allegation of cheating and criminal conspiracy. He had had fled to the UAE. The CBI coordinated with UAE authorities to locate and apprehend him.
