Shillong, Nov 14: A programme was held at Mutong Community Hall, East Jaintia Hills District, to financially empower Self Help Groups (SHGs) under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM).

Cheques and sanction orders were distributed to SHGs and Cluster Level Federations (CLFs) under the Lakhpati Didi Initiative and Livelihood Promotion.

A total of Rs. 4,735,226 was disbursed, including Rs. 43,10,226 as Viability Gap Fund and Rs. 4,25,000 as Community Funds. Three vehicles were released under the Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana (AGEY), and bank loans worth Rs. 1.18 crore were sanctioned to SHGs.
