Laney College Athletics Director John Beam, who was the coach of the football program when it was featured on “Last Chance U,” was shot on the college’s campus on Thursday.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle , Beam was shot in the head at the school’s fieldhouse.

NBC reports that John Beam was in critical condition as of Thursday night.

Laney College is located in Oakland, Calif. It was featured on Season 5 of “Last Chance U.”
