Soon, the Indian film industry will honour films that show kindness towards animals as part of a joint initiative by the Film Federation of India (FFI) and People for Animals (PFA). The first edition of the CineKind Awards will be held in Kolkata on December 20, wherein 10 films/personalities will be awarded. The awards will become an annual feature from next year, the organisers said.
The official launch and announcement of CineKind were made jointly by Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, chairperson of People for Animals, and Firdausul Hassan, president of the Film Federation of India, at an event held in New Delhi on Wednesday.
CineKind aims to recognise and reward not only members of the film fraternity but also individuals from across walks of life who are doing groundbreaking work and deserve
