The Mets were a middle-of-the-pack team for most of the season, but they fell out of the postseason in the final day of the regular season as the Cincinnati Reds made it in over them.

This offseason, the Mets need to make some big moves in the right direction. But first, they need to make sure they don't take steps backwards.

Free agent Edwin Diaz is going to be one of the most important players on the Mets' radar this offseason. New York needs to retain the star closer, likely on a huge deal, if it wants a chance at making the postseason next year.
