Police in Gloucester County engaged in a high speed pursuit after spotting a stolen vehicle on Friday, Nov. 14, authorities said.
At 1:57 a.m., officers observed a stolen black BMW X3 entering Washington Township, having been stolen out of West Deptford on Tuesday, Nov. 11, Washington Township police said.
Officers attempted a high-risk motor vehicle stop but the suspect vehicle fled at a high rate of speed onto Route 42 southbound, police said. Officers pursued the vehicle, heading south on Route 42 before looping back northbound, police said.
The suspect vehicle then entered the Atlantic City Expressway southbound, traveled several miles, crossed the median, and began traveling northbound back toward Route 42 in the direction of Camden and Philadelphia, police said.
The vehicle ultimately exited onto Route 130 northbound, entering Camden City at Exit 1D, and continued through multiple city streets including Crescent Blvd, Ferry Ave, Davis St, Hallowell Ln, and Jackson St., police said.
The pursuit concluded in the area of Carl Miller Blvd and Leon Huff Way, where officers safely terminated the pursuit after the suspect vehicle turned the wrong way down a one-way street, nearly striking another vehicle head-on, police said.
No injuries were reported, and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.
