GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Candidates across ENC who requested recounts following last week’s municipal elections will learn their fate today.
Several county Board of Elections will be holding recounts today in mayoral and city council races.
In Greenville, the Pitt County Board of Elections will conduct a recount of the District 3 city council seat.
Incumbent Marion Blackburn called for the recount after political newcomer and ECU student Seth Hardee won the race by 26 votes.
Pitt County Board of Elections officials say candidates with a 1% difference from the candidate who received the most votes can request a recount.
A recount will also be held in the race for Morehead City’s mayor at noon today.
The recount was called by current mayor Jerry Jones, who lost to candidate Lee Stil
