The Department for Work and Pensions is asking state pensioners whether they have "heard" as £150 energy discounrs are issued.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the DWP wrote: "Have you heard about the Warm Home Discount Scheme? If you’re eligible, the £150 credit will be automatically applied to your electricity account.

"If you get a call asking you to apply for the discount, it’s a scam." The Warm Home Discount Scheme is a one-off £150 discount off your electricity bill, the DWP website explains. If you’re eligible, your electricity supplier will apply the discount to your bill. The money is not paid to you.
