November 14, 1990 - President George H. W. Bush approved a joint resolution designating November 1990 as National American Indian Heritage Month.
It’s been celebrated since including in Nebraska. Nebraska’s history begins with Native Americans, with at least seven tribes that were devastated by settlers in the 17-1800’s.
