Special to The Providence Journal
Thinking out loud ... while wondering if true teamwork means never having to take the blame alone.
One of the great Friars of all time, Lenny Wilkens, passed away this week at age 88. Wilkens is one of five men inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame as a player and coach; in fact, he was also a player-coach for four of his NBA seasons spent in Portland. He moved full time into coaching soon afterward, won an NBA title in Seattle ( with PC’s Joe Hassett on his bench in 1979 ) and was named NBA Coach of the Year in 1994.
