A 17-year-old girl tragically died following an attack inside a home, police have said.

The victim, named locally as Lainie Williams, was stabbed alongside her 38-year-old mum, Rhian Stephens.

Sadly, Lainie could not survive her injuries and she was pronounced dead following the brutal attack on Thursday, November 13.

It came after armed police were called to a property in Cefn Fforest, Wales, at around 7.15am.

Gwent Police have since arrested an 18-year-old man from Newbridge on suspicion of murder.

Following the incident, "Justice for Lainie" has been trending on platforms such as Tiktok and Facebook as her friends "turn social media pink" in her memory, WalesOnline report
