A car has plunged into the River Nairn after crashing off a bridge in the Highlands.
A major emergency service response was sent to the scene near the Howford Bridge on the B9090 south of Nairn at 9.30am on Friday morning.
HM Coastguard as well as the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Scottish Ambulance Service and Police Scotland all responded to 999 calls.
A blue Fiat Panda was found to have entered the river around a mile and a half outside the Highlands town.
One person was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness . Their condition is unknown.
Nairn Coastguard Rescue Team as well as the Coastguard search and rescue helicopter are searching the river and its banks near to Howford Bridge, around 1.5 miles south of Nairn .
