Troopers from the Michigan State Police are investigating after discovering what appeared to be human remains during a welfare check in Allegan County on Nov. 13.
MSP Fifth District announced on social media that troopers from the Wayland Post responded to a welfare check and missing persons complaint on Lincoln Road in Otsego Township around 2:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered what they believe to be human remains.
The MSP Grand Rapids Lab was called to process the scene, while anthropologists from Western Michigan University were called to excavate the remains. An autopsy was scheduled for Nov. 14.
According to a report from WOOD TV-8 , troopers were called to check on a 48-year-old woman who'd been living in a camper behind a house and hadn’t been seen for a while.
