At least four people were killed as a Russian drone struck an apartment block in eastern Kyiv during a wave of strikes throughout the Ukrainian capital, damaging dozens of high-rise buildings.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the “heinous attack", accusing Moscow of deliberately targeting civilians. He said about 430 drones and 18 missiles had been launched, and several buildings had been damaged due to Russia’s fresh wave of strikes.

A resident in Kyiv described to the BBC how the drone had pierced a building in the Lisovyi area, exploding on the other side: “I saw it with my own eyes."
