BJP, Congress win two seats each in Assembly by-polls; AAP, PDP, MNF & JMM secure one seat each

In the Assembly by-poll held in eight constituencies spread over 7 States, BJP and Congress have won two seats each. Aam Aadmi Party, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Mizo National Front and People’s Democratic Party have won one seat each. In Jharkhand, JMM candidate Somesh Chandra Soren claimed Ghatsila seat, winning by over 38 thousand votes over his nearest BJP rival Babu Lal Soren. In Odisha, BJP candidate Jay Dholakia has won the Nuapada seat by huge margin of over 83 thousand votes over his nearest Congress rival Ghasi Ram Majhi.
