PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Three former members of Congress spoke together at Bradley University Thursday, with bipartisanship as the focus.

The former politicians spoke to students and members of the public about reaching across the aisle and why they feel it’s important. Some current policymakers were there, as well.

Cheri Bustos, Bob Dold, and Ray LaHood each offered solutions to a perceived lack of bipartisanship in Congress.

Dold said that no representative will agree with constituents all the time, but the important thing is that they are listening to people’s concerns and have the ability to act on them. He also said getting to know other members helps.
