BATTLE CREEK - When Jake Kucharczyk graduated from Lakeview High School in 2024, he was one of the top baseball players in the state. However, the Division I offers didn't come flooding in.

So, he chose to stay local and play at Kellogg Community College, believing that his dreams of playing at the Division I level would come later. Now, his dream has come true.

Kucharczyk has committed to play college baseball at Penn State University in the Big Ten.

"Penn State is a dream school for anybody in the Midwest," Kucharczyk said. "It is a great place to play in a prestigious conference. This is huge, definitely an accomplishment and I'm excited to go and play there."
