Delaware has a long, distinguished history in the visual arts, most notably represented by members of the Brandywine School of painters, which included Frank Earle Schoonover, Howard Pyle and the Wyeth family of artists.
This legacy is today preserved by institutions such as the Delaware Art Museum and the Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library, which contains one of the richest collections of American art and decor in the United States. It is also supported by the University of Delaware’s prestigious MS Program in Art Conservation and PhD in Preservation Studies, both offered in partnership with Winterthur.
