PEKIN, Ill. – The Pekin Park District and Pekin Police are asking for the public’s help after another act of vandalism at Mineral Springs Park.

A statement on the Pekin Park District’s Facebook page says earlier this week, the green flame-breathing dragon display was cut apart, removed, and thrown into the lagoon.

This act of vandalism follows other recent incidents involving stolen or damaged decorations at Mineral Springs Park that are part of the community’s Winter Wonderland light displays.

Pekin Park District says that if this type of vandalism continues, they may not be able to keep the Winter Wonderland light display going.
