Tanzil’s car was stopped at Umling during a routine checking after officers spotted the flasher light being used on the car while the MP was no where to be seen.

Assam Congress MP Rakibul Hussain’s son, Tanzil Hussain was stopped, rebuked and fined by Meghalaya Police on Thursday night for misusing the beacon meant for MPs’ cars, on his vehicle.

“Has the entire family of the MP become MPs now? Why did you use the flasher light if MP himself is not inside the vehicle? SSP VS Rathore asked Tanzil Hussain.

Tanzil’s car was stopped at Umling during a routine checking after officers spotted the flasher light being used on the car while the MP was no where to be seen.

The police found that the flasher light was being used without any authorisation, in violation of government rules.
