WAYNESVILLE, Mo. (KY3) - A few blocks off Historic Route 66 in Waynesville, it’s kind of hard to miss Henry Rothbauer’s home.
“It’s just something to do,” Henry said about making multiple yard ornaments. “I can’t sit around and do nothing. I’ve got to have something to do.”
“I’m not going to give him an A-plus in artistic ability,” Henry’s son Rob joked, “but, you know, they work. They’re storm-proven.”
All of the ducks, airplanes, and Waynesville Tigers are made by hand, as the sign says, by a 99-year-old World War II vet.
“I’ll be 100 in January,” Henry smiled.
Henry’s secret to longevity? He thanks the Man above, but also rides his bike daily around the neighborhood.
“I drive about two miles, I guess,” Henry said. “And it’s a flat bike, but there’s some hills down there. If I can
