A Toledo politician, who doubles as a coach at the local school, is facing criminal charges after an alleged physical altercation with a high school student.
According to a news release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, a school resource officer received a report of a football coach physically striking a student on school grounds on Oct. 24.
After a follow-up investigation, sheriff’s detective Christopher Marks determined that Rodney Cross, 63, had slapped a student during a conversation in the Toledo Junior/Senior High School gymnasium, the sheriff’s office said.
